The selected Director of Allocation &Replenishment will lead the allocation strategy andexecution for the company to maximize the company’s inventoryinvestment by store.   He/she will:

  • Develop and implement an allocation strategy and functionalplan that maximizes the company’s inventory investment by store.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for the standards ofstore allocation for seasonal conversion, aged inventory, marketingpreparation, new store openings, store closings, store capacityplanning and item/assortment plans.
  • Monitor Top Volume Stores performance weekly and distortinventory needs accordingly based on sales trends.
  • Enhance store flow process in allocation systems to supportthe promotional strategy.
  • Develop process to monitor allocator productivity andaccuracy and setting standards.
  • Develop allocation process to address transition period’ssummer to fall and holiday to spring to better balance the carryoverinventory by region.  Need to determine when to cutoff allocations to stores that turn on to the future season productsooner.
  • Evaluate replenishment system with recommendations onreplenishment strategies, counter stock levels and systemimprovements.  Monitor performance of replenishmentprograms.
  • Oversee process to support size optimization.
  • Develop store planning process and tools to optimize theright assortment by store.  Identify changes toroles and responsibilities to support store planning.
  • Develop process that determines how to tier assortments bystore so stores do not get over/under assorted. Develop measurement system to evaluate effectiveness of tieredassortments.
  • Develop, monitor and update the store clusters used forassortment planning, allocation and analysis of weekly storeperformance.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in fashion retail companies inplanning/allocation, finance, or  merchandisingpositions emphasizing financial acumen, analysis & decisionmaking and leadership skills.
  • Store planning experience a plus.
  • A track record of successful results.
  • Bachelors degree required
