The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the evaluation andmanagement of suppliers that meet requirements in the areas of cost,quality, fill rate, on time delivery and are aligned to the strategicsourcing plan. The SM also works closely with the design andmerchant teams in the line and product development processes toprovide technical assistance and accurate costing. The SM isresponsible for planning, managing and tracking the development andproduction processes from concept to execution to ensure adherence tothe Time & Action calendar. The SM reports to the Directorof Sourcing Key Responsibilities
Lead communication with Design, Merchandising, Planning,Technical Design, Quality and CSI buying offices regarding theproduct development process. Manage the development and production processes andensure the accuracy of tracking reports. Develop product according to design requirements andcommunicate issues when the product development concept ormerchandising strategy contains unrealistic expectations ofsourcing. Direct CSI buying offices with supplier agreementsincluding first cost, quality and service level agreements. Manage fabric commitments and capacity reservations basedon established projections. Provide technical manufacturing expertise and identifypotential manufacturing issues prior to style adoption. Communicate daily with CSI buying offices concerninginformation regarding development and production issues.
Job Requirements
5 years of experience in sourcing/productionmanagement and/or product development responsibility. Technical knowledge of fabric, garment constructionand production cycle times. Strong verbal and written communicationskills. Be clear, concise and direct. Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and webbased applications. College degree required. International travel required.
