PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION TITLE:Director of Distribution Operations (AEO Direct to Consumer)
REPORTS TO: Vice President/General Manager, Ottawa Campus
SUPERVISES: 4 DC Operations Managers
PURPOSE
Leadership of the operational, people, quality, safety and fiscal requirements of Customer Order Fulfillment. This includes Replenishment, Receiving, Shipping, Reverse Logistics, Customer Returns and support functions for the all brands within the American Eagle Outfitters Direct to Consumer portfolio. Key distribution center point of contact for the AE Direct function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct all activities between the AE Direct Division and all associated DC departments.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with AE Direct (Buyers) and IT departments to meet customer service guidelines and planning, especially during high volume seasonal fluctuations
Develop production standards and interdepartmental performance goals and guidelines.
Develop / implement methods, practices and procedures to exceed the DC productivity, quality, and safety goals established.
Develop processes and strategies in partnership with Inventory Integrity Department to ensure highest level of inventory integrity throughout the AE Direct distribution operations.
Plan and implement strategies to effectively process seasonal fluctuations in workload.
Maintain the security of all merchandise and capital equipment of the Distribution Center.
Compose and manage AE Direct/Distribution Center budget to control costs; approve purchases.
Responsible for meeting, external and internal, customer service requirements.
Train, develop, and supervise non-exempt and exempt employees.
Promote and maintain high employee morale and safety.
Administer company policies and procedures; counsel employees as required.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Business Management or equivalent, MBA or MS preferred.
10+ years previous management experience in a production/processing/retail environment or equivalent
Ability to manage multiple strategic business priorities concurrently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; negotiating skills; and planning skills
Excellent problem solving ability, high sense of urgency
PC skills, including spreadsheet and database experience (Microsoft Office Suite)
